If you can quickly send your pikemen into combat to prevent enemy from thinking out it's possibilities of attack, then you can easily surround them.
I always use Peltasts (or Light Skirmishers) to soften up critical parts of the enemy army and deploy most of my cavalry with the general on one flank.Īnvil and Hammer tactic is probably the only way you will ever beat Romans with any successor faction - the Pikemen usually get surrounded, slaughtered and easily rout.
Yeah, I absolutely despise Archers, they just spoil the fun.
